Advanced Search
You can search any combination of fields in the Advanced Search page. Some fields are text boxes below (like “Document”), while others are multi-select boxes (like “UniServ Area” or “Certified/Classified”) or Date fields.
In text boxes you can access an index of available words simply by typing in the box and you’ll notice the Search History/Word Index changes to show words that match what you’ve typed. The same box will also keep a record of previous searches. Click the star next to any entry to save the search and the icon on the right can be used to give the saved search a name.
When you have finished entering search terms, click “Search.”
Numeric Searches
Websearch supports complex numeric range searches. Whenever this is the case, the search relevant search form will include the appropriate terms.
Date Range Searches
When fields are indexed as “Date” fields and include Month/Day/Year, the date range functionality is available. In these cases a link to mini-calendar is provided for easy searching.
Wildcard Search
You can use ‘wildcard’ characters when searching. Wildcard characters are used in place of letters or parts of words/phrases which you don’t know. They are helpful, for instance, in cases where only a partial spelling of the word is known or if the word is used in different forms, i.e., noun, verb, adverb, etc. For example, the word-stem ‘work’ also occurs in ‘worker’ and ‘working’. You could search for “work”, “worker”, and “working” by simply entering “work*
